The Department of Informatics is looking to recruit a Research Associate in CHAI Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain teaching experience, which is invaluable for someone who is looking to embark on their academic career. You will be joining a diverse and discipline-rich department of Informatics, which is inclusive, innovative and is placed at one of the most prestigious universities in the UK.
About the role
The post holder will join the Causal Explainability group at KCL, led by Prof Chockler, and be responsible for development, maintenance, and research related to the group’s explainability platform ReX. The post holder is expected to collaborate with other members of the group and CHAI Hub as a whole to advance the SoTA in the area of Causal AI for Healthcare applications.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract of 2 years with the possibility of extension depending on funding. It is hoped that the successful applicant will start by 1 June 2025, but there is some flexibility concerning the start date.
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. PhD in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent (or pending results)
2. Experience in software development
3. Proficiency in Python and collaborative development environment (GitHub)
4. Experience in software testing and evaluation
5. Knowledge of CS logic
6. Publications in first-tier peer-reviewed CS venues
7. Good teamwork skills
Desirable criteria
1. Knowledge of C++, Java, Rust, or other programming language
2. Experience in supervising MSc and UG students
