About the role:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and visualising key operational data across the University to drive informed decision-making. This role will focus on identifying trends and patterns in data related to estates and facilities, HR/People analytics, finance, and operational efficiency. Working with stakeholders across multiple departments, the post holder will generate reports and dashboards to enhance service levels, resource allocation, and performance monitoring. 

This position is ideal for a data-driven professional with 2–3 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence tools, who can apply analytical insights to support University-wide operations effectively. 

Key Responsibilities 

Data Processing, Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, clean, and analyse datasets from multiple sources, including workforce management, scheduling, finance, and HR systems. 

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI 

  • Identify trends and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Business Intelligence & Performance Analytics

  • Extract and analyse data from various systems such as Timegate, Servicetrac, and Liberty Telephone. 

  • Provide performance insights and recommendations based on data analysis. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Collaborate with different departments across the University to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights. 

  • Communicate data-driven findings to senior leadership and operations teams. 

  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders. 

Financial & HR Data Analysis

  • Assist with financial reporting, ensuring a sound understanding of key financial metrics. 

  • Analyse HR/People data to support workforce planning and compliance monitoring. 

  • Support data-driven decision-making in resource allocation and performance management. 

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Continuously explore new tools and methodologies to enhance data analysis and reporting efficiency. 

  • Assist in automating and streamlining data processes to improve accuracy and reduce manual workload. 

The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake other duties as reasonably expected within the scope and grading of the role. 

Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate or Power Apps would be beneficial but is not essential.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

1.      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights  

2.      Experience working with operational, HR, or financial data 

3.      Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines with Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.  

4.      Ability to work independently and proactively  

5.      Prior experience in an Admin role  

6.       Advanced user of Power BI (Portfolio to be attached in the cv and cover letter)  

7.      Presentation skills: ability to produce and deliver data-driven presentations  

8.      Sound understanding of financial metrics and analysis 

Desirable criteria

1.      Experience with Power Automate or Power App 

2.      Understanding of Soft Facilities Management
