The Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care (NMPC) is based in the heart of central and south London. It includes the Cicely Saunders Institute for Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, the premier Institute for Palliative Care, bringing together clinical, research and education teams.
Our applied clinical and health multidisciplinary research transforms therapies, the healthcare experience and outcomes for patients and those important to them, wherever they are cared for. About the role
The International Partnerships Officer role forms part of the International Office within the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care (NMPC). Supporting international projects and partnerships across the NMPC International Office, this role provides administrative support to the international project teams, including academic and professional services staff.
The post holder will support established processes and systems across all international projects, supporting the day-to-day processes working under the direction of specific project team members. They will collaborate with diverse stakeholders within King’s and externally to support efficient and effective international provision. Utilising their knowledge and expertise, the post holder is expected to collaborate with the project teams to make timely and considered decisions, escalating complicated matters to Senior International Partnerships Managers.
The post would suit someone who is proactive in delivering tasks and finding solutions to problems. They will be able to work autonomously using established processes, a confident communicator and advocate for process improvement.
They will use standard operating processes and procedures and advise colleagues on their use, working closely with the wider team. They will support the day-to-day processes to ensure the smooth running of the NMPC international office and support key initiatives to create a welcoming and supportive culture for staff and students.
Being able to manage competing priorities is essential, along with good attention to detail. They must also be able to build and maintain effective working relationships across the faculty and central teams to facilitate operational delivery, and be committed to principles of culture, equality, diversity, and inclusion and supporting cultural change.
The post holder will gain invaluable experience in a wide range of operations in the Faculty, working with colleagues to support international collaborations and the academic impact of the university. The post holder will work as part of a team for complex collaborations.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 2 years from start date.

About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and experience of administrative and project support processes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and be proactive using established processes that contribute to the project team goals and objectives to deliver outstanding business operations
- IT skills – particularly Microsoft Office 365 applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Forms) and experience of utilising digital technology in day-to-day work
- Good communication, comprehension and interpersonal skills - to receive, understand and relay (in writing & verbally) day-to-day operational ideas or information to various groups
- Interest in and experience of process improvement, using a systematic approach to assess the impact of a proposed change to assess its viability
- Good accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to follow procedures and processes and to maintain records
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge and experience of a project management office
- Experience of minute and note taking
- Experience of having worked in the UK university sector
