About us

King’s College London Endodontic unit is one of the largest in the world with 35 specialist trainees in Endodontics, a large number of clinical teachers and an intense research activity:  the undergraduate teaching unit is based on floor 21 at Guy’s Hospital and fully equipped with digital radiography, operative microscopes and is supported by a well-trained team of experienced nurses and radiographers.

About the role 

Part time teachers are required to teach within the Endodontology department at undergraduate level.    

Teaching is mainly clinically based but also involves delivering seminars and one to one student feedback.  Support is provided.  

Applicants should be fully GDC Registered Dentists with a good level of experience. Specialist Endodontist status is an advantage.  

This is a part time post (8 Hours per week, every Tuesday) and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Full registration with UK GDC & specialist in endodontics 
  2. Prepared to plan the care of patients needing a range of dental treatments  
  3. Ability to supervise undergraduate students/Enthusiastic approach to teaching  
  4. Significant demonstrable post qualification experience  
  5. Experience of treating patients needing the specific type of dentistry in which you would like to teach.  
  6. Participation in clinical audit projects  
  7. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team  
  8. Good communication skills  
  9. Willingness to undertake tasks in addition to teaching  
  10. Regular attendance and good time keeping and willingness to be flexible about working times 

Desirable criteria

  1. FDS, MFDS, MJDF or equivalent  
  2. Specialist qualification  
  3. Certificate in teaching
