THIS VACANCY IS OPEN TO INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
About us:
The King’s community is dedicated to the service of society. King’s Strategic Vision 2030 sets out our vision for the future, shaped around four priorities: student success in and beyond the University; invest in research and education excellence for the changing world; foster innovation and entrepreneurship; and sustainable finances for a secure future.
We are the Academic Regulations, Quality and Standards team at King’s. We are responsible for the development and oversight of King’s effective and impactful quality assurance framework. Referencing the frameworks of external bodies such as the Office for Students (OfS) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), we undertake a broad range of activities to meet both external requirements, such as supporting quality assurance reviews, and activities designed to meet King’s needs, for example, programme reviews and programme approval processes.
We are part of the wider Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.
About the role:
The Quality Assurance Officer has oversight for processes relating to programme monitoring and review, external examiners, and assists with the process of module evaluation. They are responsible for providing internal regulatory and procedural advice, as well as external regulatory compliance guidance, to academic and professional services staff.
You will contribute to the development and maintenance of quality assurance regulations, policies, and procedures relating to external examining and programme and module monitoring, ensuring alignment with OfS Conditions of Registration and the QAA Quality Code. Acting as a key point of contact for faculties, you will provide advice and support on quality processes, oversee programme monitoring activities, reporting outcomes to central committees, and assist with module evaluation, including supporting the implementation and use of the online survey system.
This role is also responsible for the effective operation of the University’s external examiner and external peer systems. You will administer nomination processes, ensure faculties and departments understand and fulfil their responsibilities, and support compliance with King’s regulations, policies, and timelines. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will oversee responses to external examiner reports and provide clear guidance on processes and expectations.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to expand their knowledge of the quality assurance framework, and who wish to utilise their skills and expertise in central university processes.
We encourage applications from candidates who have experience from both within and outside of the Higher Education sector where they can demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in this role.
This is a full time post, and you will be offered an 11-month maternity cover contract from 20th July 2026, until the substantive postholder returns.
