The post sits within the International, Engagement and Service Directorate (IES), which brings together the expertise of teams engaging with communities and partners locally, national and globally. IES provides strategic leadership for the university’s engagement at home and abroad, alongside a portfolio of innovative programmes that generate and measure impact and serve the communities we work with and for. IES is home to some of King’s most innovative and impact-driven programming including Sanctuary, the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational Education, King’s Volunteering, One King’s Impact, among others, as well as our civic and place-based engagement in London, and across the world.
About the role:
The Head of Community Partnerships is responsible for coordinating, developing and governing King’s community and social venture partnerships, supporting faculty engagement leads to ensure coherence and alignment across the university. It focuses on creating new education and research opportunities, enabling scaling of place-based, community knowledge exchange and social venture activity.

This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31/07/27. This role is available on secondment.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Proven ability to design and implement organisation wide partnership strategies, frameworks or governance models.
- Strong track record of building and developing community-based, place-based, or social innovation partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience working across complex organisations, engaging internal and external partners to build coordinated networks.
- Experience creating and scaling programmes, particularly within education or student engagement contexts.
- Ability to manage multiple partnership pipelines, prioritise opportunities, and move partnerships from concept to delivery.
- Experience collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data to support internal and external reporting and impact measurement.
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of UK research and knowledge exchange frameworks and how partnerships contribute to institutional performance.
- Background in supporting or leading bids for research, innovation or community partnership funding.
- Familiarity with service design methods (e.g. user-centred design, co-design, journey mapping, service improvement) to enhance partnership delivery, efficiency and user experience.
