Overview

By studying Spanish Level 3, you will be able to understand authentic passages on familiar issues and communicate on a variety of subjects using accurate pronunciation and intonation and a range of language and structure, be able to read and summarize a limited number of authentic texts, be able to write more complex texts on familiar issues and have developed intercultural competence further.

  • Festivities
  • Life stories
  • Cinema, TV and Literature genres

Functions may typically include:

  • Expressing obligation
  • Expressing prohibition
  • Describing people’s personality and states of mind
  • Talking about cultural stereotypes
  • Narrating films
  • Talking about likes and dislikes
  • Expressing feelings
  • Reviewing films and books
  • Summarising a book and/or a film

Grammar may typically include:

  • Use of the impersonal form “se”
  • Expressions of obligation and prohibition
  • Use of impersonal expressions
  • Comparatives and superlatives
  • Ser and Estar with adjectives
  • Qualifying adjectives
  • Quantifiers
  • Verbs gustar & encantar
  • DO & IO pronouns
  • Combined use of different past tenses

What will I achieve?

When Spanish Level 3 is complete, you will achieve the equivalent of A2/B1 level of the CEFR, level 2 of the RQF.
