In the news

"A Love of Wild and Beautiful Places Demands Participation in the Fight to Save Them." The recent decision to place the outdoor clothing company Patagonia in trust for the planet might be the ultimate "money where your mouth is" brand statement. Dr Megan Bowman, Director of the Centre for Climate Law and Governance, responds.

Our research

In November 2022, with delegates gathering in Sharm El-Shekih for COP27, we highlighted research from King's Centre for Climate Law and Governance. Dr Yael Lifshitz shared three papers: 'Energy Cities', which looks at the role cities can play in the clean energy transition; 'Natural Transplants' which assesses the potential impact on natural resource law of the tendency among lawmakers to copy existing law; and 'Private Energy' which focuses on the role of private law as the traditionally-centralised model of energy generation and exchange is disrupted by new technology.
