King's Legal Clinic

Zacchaeus 2000 Trust (Z2K)

Zacchaeus 2000 Trust (Z2K) is an advice and campaigning charity working across London to solve problems within the social security and welfare benefits system.

Z2K offers free advice and support for people across London on issues such as debt, homelessness and disability benefits. They are also active in campaigning for the improvement of government policies relating to welfare and poverty both locally and nationally.

King's Legal Clinic is partnering up with Z2K to offer students the opportunity to be trained up as Tribunal volunteer representatives to assist clients with social welfare cases.
This is a great opportunity to begin developing key advocacy and written skills that will serve as a good foundation for a future career in legal practice - particularly for students interested in a career at the bar!!!
What will I be doing as a Tribunal volunteer representative with Z2K?

As a volunteer representative you will be:

  • Interviewing clients;
  • Drafting submissions; and
  • Providing clients with representation at their First-Tier tribunal hearing.

You will gain first hand experience of public law issues and the practicalities of navigating the court system when appealing against governmental decisions.
