King's Legal Clinic

Evidence and Strategic Litigation Research Project

King’s Legal Clinic, in collaboration with Dr Joseph Tomlinson, Lecturer in Public Law, is giving students the opportunity to volunteer and work on the Evidence and Strategic Litigation Research Project.

Evidence gathering is a key legal skill. In strategic judicial reviews—which seek to challenge laws, policies, or systems—evidence gathering can be particularly demanding.

This short project will involve students being provided with initial training on how evidence gathering in strategic judicial review works and how judges handle it. Students will then work together to research a particular policy development where there are concerns about legality, to explore the available evidence base.

What is expected of students when getting involved with the Evidence & Strategic Litigation Project?

You should have an interest in and good understanding of public law/judicial review.

Students will be expected to commit to working on the project for a duration of 2 months. This will involve compulsory attendance at any training and supervision meetings.

Who is eligible to apply?

We are looking for second year, third year undergraduates or LLM students to help assist with this project. You must be enrolled on a programme with The Dickson Poon School of Law to apply.

How can I apply?
