Computers and laptops
There are over 1300 student desktop computers across the University. These are mostly located in the libraries and Student computing rooms. Others are in halls of residences, the Compass and Graduate Zones, as well as internet kiosks in cafes and other public spaces on campus.
Computers are loaded with Access King's Campus Desktop (AKCD) comprising a wide range of software which has been carefully selected to support your study and research. Computers all have standard Microsoft Office software, a choice of Internet browsers and a wide range of other software, such as bibliographic, statistical and graphical packages, departmental and subject specific software.

Student laptop loans
A number of laptops for students are available at each library. The laptops can be borrowed for up to 24 hours at a time and may be taken outside of the library.
Personal laptops can be used in the library. Access to the internet is by connecting to the eduroam network for which you will need a valid student, staff or affiliate IT account: please see the IT webpages.
If you are visiting from another academic institution, you may use the eduroam network, if your home institution supports this. Please see the information on eduroam on the IT web pages.
