Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care

King's students from the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care have the power to make a real difference in London and the rest of the world.

Our teaching and research equips healthcare professionals with the tools to transform patients’ lives in our local communities, across London and around the world.

Faculty collaborations with London include:

  • Partnering with organisations across London to support the join CapitalNurse initiative which aims to ‘get nursing right for London’; ensuring that London has the right number of nurses, with the right skills in the right place, working to deliver excellent nursing wherever it is needed.
  • Leading the CapitalMidwife research project on the recruitment and retention of midwives in the city.
  • Designing and developing new nursing modules with a focus on the health and wellbeing of communities across London.
  • Pioneering a new module that explores the diverse experiences of young Londoners to provide the capital’s future nurses with a deeper understanding of how biological, sociological and psychological factors can shape a young person’s life in the city.
  • Working with London’s South Asian population to offer customised self-management education programmes to patients living with type 2 diabetes.
