Urban health and wellbeing

Life in urban centres poses a wide variety of risks to our health and wellbeing. Air pollution and dense traffic have been linked to respiratory problems and poor sleeping patterns. Densely populated spaces and busy digitally connected lifestyles can stop us switching off and relaxing, negatively affecting wellbeing and mental health. King’s academics are at the forefront of health research – from cutting-edge air pollution studies, to research into urban mental health research, ageing populations and integrated patient pathways.

King’s is renowned for its teaching in health and healthcare, delivering some of the best qualified doctors, nurses and midwives in the UK and attracting students from across the world. Our Academic Health Science Centre, King’s Health Partners, brings together three leading NHS Foundation Trusts and King’s College London, translating cutting-edge research into excellent patient care through world-class education and training.
