Centre for Education
The Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine has always had a clear mission – to deliver world-class education and research. In order to support continued excellence and innovation in these areas, the Centre for Education was recently formed to provide educational leadership across the Faculty.
The Centre for Education (formerly the Division of Medical Education and the Division of Bioscience Education) is led by Professor Ian McFadzean and is focused on enhancing the Faculty’s undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes by developing:
- pedagogy and best practice,
- initiatives in research, training and curriculum development, and
- collaborative working within the seven Academic Schools, the two Schools of Education and the Teaching Departments, and the relevant leads in these areas.
As many of the Faculty’s education programmes draw on expertise across the Faculty’s academic structure, The two Schools of Education; GKT School of Medical Education and the School of Bioscience Education are responsible for the course-specific delivery of education and continue as the academic homes for our students.
For internal staff and students, we have a list of key contacts on the intranet.
