New Director of Research appointed
Professor Reza Razavi, Head of the Division of Imaging Sciences & Biomedical Engineering, has been appointed as Director of Research by King's Health Partners.
Professor Razavi is also Leader of the Biomedical Engineering Clinical Academic Group, Professor of Paediatric Cardiovascular Science at King's and Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
Speaking about his appointment, Professor Razavi said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Director of Research for King’s Health Partners. Our academic health sciences centre brings together research expertise across a comprehensive range of scientific areas and I look forward to driving and supporting research activities across our organisation. Together we can forge our position as a leading centre of health-related research, not only in the UK but internationally.”
Professor Sir Robert Lechler, Executive Director of King’s Health Partners, said: “Reza’s drive and commitment to research at King’s Health Partners makes him the ideal person to deliver our research agenda over the next five years. I am delighted to welcome him to the executive team of King’s Health Partners.”
The role was previously held by Professor Simon Lovestone, who has taken up a new position at Oxford University.
