About us

About us

Our Comprehensive Cancer Centre is part of one of the leading cancer research centres in Europe, as part of King's Health Partners'. The Cancer CAG brings together world-class clinical services, research and education for the benefit of cancer patients in south east London and beyond. Occupying facilities across Guy’s and Denmark Hill campuses, the department is headed by Professor Tony Ng.

Mission

We have a multidisciplinary research portfolio that spans the entire cancer patient journey. By fostering a culture of innovation in cancer patient care through research excellence, we break down traditional clinical and academic boundaries and draw together members of King's and its associated NHS partners to achieve a fully integrated cancer research pathway.

Research focuses on cancer genomics, haemato-oncology, breast cancer biology, epidemiology, cancer cell biology and cancer imaging. Research teams are developing alternative and individualised patient care options, including clinical trials and palliative care programmes designed to optimise quality of life, as well as rigorously quantifying benefits for patients.

Members of our distinguished team of academics have been recognised for their outstanding work in the field of Cancer research. We are committed to training future researchers and currently have over 60 students studying for a PhD in the Centre. We also run an MRes in Translational Cancer Medicine.

Integrated Cancer Centre Partnership

Our culture of innovation is reflected in the coordinated strategic planning that provides the foundations our Integrated Cancer Centre. The Cancer CAG brings together world-class clinical services, research and education for the benefit of cancer patients in south east London and beyond.
