Breast Cancer Surgery Group
The Breast Cancer Surgery group is
dedicated to translational research into high quality clinical applications
that have a direct impact on breast cancer patients. Key areas of research are in novel
nanotechnology applications for sentinel lymph node biopsy, cancer stem cells, pathophysiology
of lymphoedema, intraoperative radiotherapy, terahertz imaging and novel
devices for breast reconstruction.
Through multicentre trials and working together with the surgical teams at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS the breast cancer surgery group strives to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
