Cancer Cell Motility and Imaging
A major part of our research focus is towards utilizing our current understanding of the molecular mechanisms that control cancer cell spread to design specific targeting approaches, using chemical compounds or gene-based therapeutic approaches that do not require virus infection.
Another main focus in our laboratories is to develop ‘pioneering’ technologies in the field of Cancer Cell and Tissue Imaging which are aimed to help evaluating individual patients’ disease progression in clinic. An additional potential application of these techniques is to identify the subset of patients who are most likely to respond to drugs that target a specific mechanism in cancer cells, initially in the clinical trial setting.
These technologies are subdivided into three categories:
- Single Cancer Cell Imaging
- Cancer, Imaging and Proteomics
- Development of Molecular Diagnostics for Deriving Predictive Biomarkers for Cancer Patients
