Giovanni graduated in 2009 from the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele with a BSc in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, before studying for an MSc in Immunology at King’s College London. In 2012, after working as a Research Assistant studying the effect of rituximab on leukocytes phenotype and function in kidney transplant patients, he remained at King’s where he completed a PhD studying a subset of human regulatory T cells that partially shared a molecular signature with Th17 cells. Giovanni joined the lab in November 2016 as a Research Associate investigating the epigenetic modifications regulating IL-10 production in CD4+ T cells after anti-TNF therapy, as part of an Arthritis Research UK program grant.
