Michael graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BSc in Biochemistry in 2011, before studying for an MRes in Biomedical research from Cardiff University. In 2012 he joined the University of Birmingham, to investigate the effects of IL-10 on inflammatory macrophage gene expression, and the mechanisms it accomplishes this. Michael joined the lab in October 2016, as a research assistant as part of an Arthritis Research UK program grant, investigating control of IL-10 production in CD4+ T cells after treatment with anti-TNF therapy.
