Current basic research projects include:

  • The role of the p63 transcription factor in skin development and maintenance
  • The cellular biology of the focal contact protein fermitin family homologue 1
  • Mechanisms of apoptosis and skin itching linked to pathology in the oncostatin M receptor
  • Refining genotype-phenotype correlation in epidermolysis bullosa
  • Exploring the potential of embryonic stem cells for regenerative cell therapies
  • Functional genomics and proteomics of monogenic inherited skin diseases.
