Physiotherapy Research Foundation Award

Dr Claire White and colleagues in the Division of Health Care and Social Research (Dr L Bearne, Dr D Critchley) in collaboration with colleagues at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (J Jones, G Jones - Physiotherapy Dept and Professor F Martin – Older Persons Unit) have been awarded £99,000 by the Physiotherapy Research Foundation to fund a project to evaluate the effect and impact of implementing an innovative 7-day Physiotherapy service for elderly people following emergency hospital admissions.

In the Stroke Association's recent report (December 2012), "Saving Lives: 20 years of investing in vital stroke research", the work of the Division's Stroke Research Group headed up by Prof Charles Wolfe and Prof Tony Rudd has been highlighted as making an important contribution to National Service Frameworks and to the Stroke Strategy.
