Research & Impact
Dr Magali Williamson joins the Randall Division of Cell & Molecular Biophysics on a Prostate Cancer Research Centre fellowship.
Magali was previously at UCL where she worked on the molecular genetics of prostate cancer in the laboratory of Professor John Masters. She currently holds a research fellowship awarded by the Prostate Cancer Research Centre. Her work is aimed at understanding the cell and molecular mechanisms behind cell movement and the spread of cancer with a view to targeting these processes for therapy. She is particularly interested in the role of the cell guidance factors, semaphorins and their receptors, plexins, in the invasion and metastasis of prostate cancer. Magali’s group is part of the Cell Motility and Cytoskeleton research section headed by Professor Anne Ridley.
