Research interests

1.     Integrative Chinese medicine.

2.     Mechanisms of chronic kidney disease and fibrogenesis.

3.     Vitamin A derivatives in health and disease of the kidney.

4.     Anti-fibrotic and pro-fibrotic activities in the nature, especially in medicinal plants.

Research projects

Currently, we have two main areas of investigation:

  1. Anti-fibrotic and pro-fibrotic herbals.
  2. Roles for retinoic acid and its receptors, as well as their target mRNAs and miRNAs in renal physiology and pathophysiology.
