Maplethorpe Fellowships

The Fellowships have been established under the Will of the late Mr Cyril W Maplethorpe for the promotion of pharmaceutical education and excellence in research. The Fellowships may be held at the University College London School of Pharmacy and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science at King's College London.

Applications are invited for C W Maplethorpe Fellowships. Up to two appointments may be made this year and will normally be tenable from October 2019 onwards.

Each award will be up to two years' duration. The Fellowship will comprise the salary for the fellow, consumables and travel allowance. 

Applications are encouraged from early career researchers. Although preference is given to Pharmacists, non-pharmacists working in a relevant field may also apply.

How to apply

Please complete the application form and submit it by email to folsmadmin@kcl.ac.uk no later than midnight Thursday 20th June.

Applicants should engage with your proposed academic sponsor in the development of your application. Your academic sponsor is required to submit a recommendation for you as part of the application form.

 

Please consult the regulations when completing your application.

Prior to submission, forms must be signed by:

  • Professor Duncan Craig, the Director of the UCL School of Pharmacy if applying to undertake a fellowship at UCL, or
  • Dr Sukhvinder Bansal, Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, King's College London if applying to undertake a fellowship at King's.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview. Interviews are taking place on Friday 19 July 2019.

Historic list of fellows

Over 70 fellowships have been awarded since the fellowships started in 1987.

These fellows have been selected on an annual basis from a competitive field of post-doctoral research scientists.

Past fellows have gone on to become academic pharmacists and to work in industry.
