Specialist teaching facilities

Available facilities in the School of Bioscience EducationKing’s offers students within the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine unrivalled educational resources including the Gordon Museum which is the largest pathology museum in the UK. King’s Chantler Simulation & Interactive Learning Centre is a state-of-the-art interprofessional undergraduate and postgraduate facility providing clinical classrooms, hospital and community care settings.

Students can also access a vast array of online resources, whether they’re on campus, at home or on clinical placement through our Virtual Campus. It allows students to manage every aspect of their studies, from accessing lecture notes and podcasts, to booking an appointment with their personal tutor and selecting modules. Students can also revisit parts of the curriculum studied in previous years, to relate previous knowledge to the next stage of their studies.

Our Clinical Partners

As a student at King’s, you are uniquely placed to benefit from our partnership with three world-renowned teaching hospitals: Guy’s, King’s College and St Thomas’ Hospitals. You also benefit from our network of general district hospitals, general practices and associated community services across the South East of England.

Our clinical partners offer placement opportunities for our professionally-accredited programmes. All of our undergraduate programmes of study include elements of teaching by clinical experts, who deliver innovative education and training for our students.

Core Research Facilities

King’s core research facilities provide access to essential technology and equipment to enhance the research conducted by our scientists of all levels. These include the: Biological Services Unit, Centre for Ultrastructural Imaging, MRI scanners and imaging scanning facility.  Smaller facilities include specialist services in: genomics, mass spectrometry, proteomics, genome manipulation, NMR, optical spectroscopy, x-ray crystallography and cell sorting to name but a few.
