Our termly forums for mathematics teachers cover a range of topics – subject knowledge, pedagogy, mathematical research to a name a few!
These termly CPD sessions are absolutely free of charge and run from 15:30 to 18:00.
Our last forum of the year will be:
Tuesday 26 June 2018
Challenges for the first year undergraduate and lessons for the A level curriculum.
Dan Abramson, KCLMS Head teacher, and John Partridge, Assistant Head, will lead this forum on the challenges faced by the first-year undergraduate and lessons for the A level curriculum.
In the first half of the session we will look at the opportunities that are out there for mathematics applicants, and spend some time thinking about how to support them so that they can approach the extension papers that increasing numbers of universities encourage or require. In the second half, we’ll identify some of the challenges faced by undergraduate mathematicians and draw out the ways in which we can support them to face these through the A Level curriculum and also through the provision of additional opportunities.
There is no charge for this forum, and refreshments will be provided throughout the afternoon.
