King's College London Mathematics School aims to be a centre of excellence for the teaching and learning of mathematics, and to provide opportunities for students with an interest and aptitude for mathematics, especially to those from backgrounds currently under-represented in the mathematical sciences.
To realise this vision, we run programmes and events for both students and teachers. All student (and some teacher) events are free of charge!
Our mathematics circle is a group of young mathematicians who meet fortnightly to engage collaboratively in mathematical thinking. Applications are currently live: the deadline for applications is 7 September 2018.
GCSE enrichment for students
An extensive programme of enrichment for GCSE students from numerous partner schools. Applications have now closed.
A 3 day Easter GCSE revision course for Year 11 students focussing on problem solving and exam preparation which will make the difference between a high GCSE grade and a very high GCSE grade. Applications for Easter 2019 will open in early 2019.
Mathematics Summer School
A week long summer school for students who attend our GCSE enrichment, and anyone else we have room for!
A summer school at King's College London for Year 11 students who want to study Physics A-level. The summer school is for students who are from backgrounds currently under-represented in the study of Physics, and also for anyone who has compeleted two science GCSEs. Applications for summer 2019 will open in spring 2019.
Further Maths course for teachers
A one-year in depth course focusing on Further Pure Mathematics, consisting of 6 training days at KCLMS and a school visit during the 2018-19 academic year. Applications are now open.
King's Mathematics Forum
Our termly forums for mathematics teachers cover a range of topics – subject knowledge, pedagogy, mathematical research to a name a few!
