Academic in attendance at global conference
A King’s academic was among attendees at one of the key global conferences governing trade and commerce.

Dr James Scott was in Cameroon in March for the bi-annual World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial Conference – a global gathering of key governmental and industry figures.
The conferences allow nations to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the global economy and system of trade.
Dr Scott, from the Department of Political Economy at King’s specialises in trade governance and developing economies in the WTO. His attendance at the conference will build upon his research in the area and feed into a new project supported by the British Academy.
The project, Navigating Institutional Crisis: WTO Secretariat Strategy in an Era of Trade Contestation, will examine how the WTO is seeking to navigate the threats to the international trade order posed by major powers and how it manages tensions with other international organisations.
