Dr Barbara Piotrowska, from the Department of Political Economy, received the Sir Bernard Crick Prize at the annual Political Studies Association conference held earlier this month.

The prize recognizes outstanding contributions to teaching and learning by early career scholars.

Dr Piotrowska’s was commended for making a “notable and forward looking contribution to the development of AI enhanced teaching” at King’s.

The judges said her work reflected “genuine commitment and intellectual ambition” and the panel felt that that her work was “highly promising”.

Dr Piotrowska said: “I’m really pleased to receive the Sir Bernard Crick Prize. The King’s College Teaching Fund made this possible by providing funding for early access to generative AI tools for my students. I’m grateful to the fund for that support, and to my students for their patience and engagement as I worked out how to integrate these tools into teaching as effectively as possible.”
