Unit researchers Jess Harris and Stephen Martineau were at the national Homelessness and Palliative Care Network today to discuss emerging findings from the MCA study at the Unit.

Around 55 people attended, many of them those who work directly in the provision of palliative care for people experiencing homelessness, for example, hostel workers and specialist workers in hospices and palliative care teams. They are often looking after people who are dying of their addictions. Substance use presents particular challenges when it comes to mental capacity assessment.
