London Demo Day has built a friendly community among founders, and because it isn't a pitch competition, there's no sense of rivalry. The pitch itself was nerve-wracking but enjoyable, and since then a number of investors, including several angels, have come over to speak with us.

Four King's start-ups pitch to investors at London Demo Day 2026
Four start-ups founded by King's College London students and alumni pitched to a room of investors and industry experts at this year's London Demo Day, the capital's largest showcase of university-founded start-ups.

What is London Demo Day
Held at Imperial College London's South Kensington Campus, the event brought together 20 early-stage ventures from King's, Imperial College London, LSE, Queen Mary University of London and UCL.
Now in its seventh year, London Demo Day gives investors, industry partners and the wider innovation community a chance to meet promising founders and see why London leads the way in university entrepreneurship. This year's cohort, spanning health tech, AI, sustainability and social impact technology is seeking investments of between £100,000 and £2 million.
The event opened with remarks from Professor Hugh Brady, President of Imperial College London, followed by a keynote from Dr Manjari Chandran-Ramesh, Partner in the Early Stage Fund at Amadeus Capital Partners. Founders then pitched to the room before a networking reception, where investors and innovation stakeholders met all 20 teams at exhibition stands.

Supporting King's entrepreneurs
All four pitching ventures have been supported through one of King’s Accelerators, which help King's students, alumni and staff take their earliest ideas through to investment-ready businesses. Participants get structured mentoring, subject-specific guidance and space to test their venture alongside a cohort of other founders working through the same stage of company-building.
London Demo Day was such an impressive showcase of the capital’s university entrepreneurs and a powerful reminder of why our founders belong on that stage. The four ventures from King’s demonstrate the range of what’s possible when rigorous academic thinking meets real commercial ambition. I have no doubt they’ll go on to secure the investment they need to take their businesses to the next stage. A very proud moment for King’s, and a great reflection of the talent and ambition of our entrepreneurial community.
Professor Sir Bashir M. Al-Hashimi (Vice President of Research & Innovation)
Students and recent graduates are an incredible source of venture creation, bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas to the challenges of today. London Demo Day shows the power of universities working together to give founders the connections and confidence to take their ideas forward. I am so proud of the King’s ventures representing us this year and excited to see what they do next.
Julie Devonshire OBE, Director of the Entrepreneurship Institute
