King's Arts & Humanities ranked top 5 in the UK

The latest QS World Rankings by Subject 2026 has seen Arts & Humanities at King’s ranked 21st in the world, placing it in the top five in the UK and top six in Europe.

King's has been placed as one of the world’s top universities as it celebrates a record number of subjects ranked in top 50 global rankings. 26 subjects taught at King’s have been ranked in the top 50 in the world in the QS World Subject rankings 2026.

Arts & Humanities ranked 21st in the world, placing it 5th out of 56 UK institutions ranked. Whilst English achieved its highest result in the past five years, placing 14th in the world. Philosophy at King’s also ranked 14th in the world as both attained the highest results for Arts & Humanities subjects in the QS rankings.

The QS World University rankings offer an extensive overview of international higher education performance, with more than 1700 institutions ranked across 55 narrow subjects and five broad subject areas. It takes into account key areas of performance such as student experience, university partnerships, research activity and faculty qualifications.
