King’s Clinical Academic Training Office (KCATO) is seeking an Academic Director and Deputy Directors to lead its mission to enable all types of health professionals to become clinical academic leaders of the future.

KCATO was launched in 2022 to provide training opportunities and support for research-active health professionals working across King’s Health Partners (King’s College London and its partnering NHS Trusts: Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, and South London and Maudsley). KCATO’s strategic priorities are i) to champion clinical academic careers, ii) to build capacity through the clinical academic pipeline, iii) to provide bespoke career development tailored to the needs of health professionals and iv) to provide a central, visible contact point for clinical academics.

KCATO is looking for an Academic Director and Deputy Directors (see separate job descriptions) to lead the next phase of KCATO, building on the strong foundations and broad activity established in the team's first four years by the current Directors, who are coming to the end of their terms. KCATO will be celebrating their contribution at our 2026 King's Clinical Academic Research Symposium.

The Director and Deputy Directors will work with the Associate Director and the KCATO professional services team to provide academic leadership, working with key stakeholders and partners, to deliver a leading programme of training support for health professionals in research across King's College London (particularly the health faculties) and broader King’s Health Partners.
