King's launches new BA in English with Creative Writing
The Department of English now offers an undergraduate degree in English with Creative Writing.
English with Creative Writing BA offers students the opportunity to study literature across time, genre and cultures alongside developing their own writing skills.
The course builds on King’s expertise in creative writing, which includes a teaching team of published authors of poetry and fiction. From the start of the course, creative writing is embedded in the programme through workshops, feedback and collaborative creative practice.
Students finish the course with a substantial portfolio of their own writing across a range of forms and genres, including fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction.
The degree offers opportunities to gain insight into publishing, media and the creative industries, as well as advice for starting careers in these sectors.

Applications for the course will open via UCAS in September.
The Department of English is ranked 5th in the UK (QS World University Rankings by Subject, 2026) and is part of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
