72% of our A-Level results were A*’s this year, which is phenomenal. The students are so interested in their subjects and willing to learn and absorb new ideas. It’s a real privilege to work with them and see how excited they are to work with each other, to collaborate, and to learn skills beyond just trying to pass an exam.

King's Maths School celebrates record breaking A-Level results
The Class of 2026 attained record breaking A-Level results, while one student scored the top mark for Maths in the country.
Students at King’s College London Mathematics School celebrated a record-breaking set of A-Level results last week, with an outstanding 90% achieving A*-A grades across all subjects.
Across Maths, Further Maths and Physics A Levels, students achieved an impressive 72% A*, 90% A*-A and 95% A*-B grades. On average, students achieved two-fifths of a grade higher per entry than predicted by national data.
Established in partnership with King’s College London in 2014, King’s College London Mathematics School provides high-quality education in the heart of London, supporting talented young people to thrive in a challenging and inspiring academic environment. Through a broad programme of extracurricular learning, the school prepares students for further study and successful careers.

These achievements are a testament to their hard work and ambition, as well as to the dedication of the staff who have supported them throughout the year. King’s Maths School creates life-changing opportunities for talented young people, helping ensure that potential and ability can flourish and opening doors to further study and careers in STEM. The school has been awarded Best State Sixth Form School of the Decade by The Sunday Times School’s Guide and this year retained the title of Sixth Form College of the Year for Academic Excellence 2026 by The Sunday Times’ Parent Power Schools Guide, for the second consecutive year.
The school offers free and subsidised programmes for students aged 13–16, helping them develop their interest and confidence in mathematics and physics, alongside activities and resources for teachers to support the delivery of high-quality mathematics education.
Inspired by the Kolmogorov Physics and Mathematics School in Moscow, King’s Maths school aims to nurture young people with an aptitude for mathematics and broaden participation in mathematics degrees and careers in the mathematical sciences, particularly among those from under-represented backgrounds.
These results underline the impact of King’s Maths School and the distinctive role a specialist maths school plays in developing analytical thinkers and future innovators.
