King's ranks in top 20 in Guardian University Guide 2027
King’s has been named a top 20 university in the annual Guardian University Guide, with courses including International Relations, Anatomy and Physiology, Law, and Politics rated amongst the best in their field.

The annual league table ranks higher education institutions across the UK by subject, looking at a range of criteria including student satisfaction, staff numbers, and career prospects.
The 2027 guide, which provides a total ranking of 123 UK universities, places King’s in 19th place across all subjects and criteria.
King’s scored particularly highly for career prospects, ranking 11th in the UK in this important criteria, with 87% of King's graduates in employment 15-months after graduating. This demonstrates King's proud commitment to ensuring student success both in and beyond university.
Building on a strong legacy of success, King’s has risen nine places in two years in these rankings, which are designed to help students to choose the right course and institution for them.
More than half (20 of 35) of the subjects King’s was ranked in came within the top 25 for their area, with six subjects making the top 10.
“It also showcases our commitment to deliver an exceptional experience for our students, advance our academic excellence and drive research in service of society.”
The highest-ranking subject for King’s in the guide is ‘International Relations’, which came in at 4th place. ‘Anatomy and Physiology’ is now ranked 5th, up 14 places from 19th place in 2026.
Other subjects in the top 10 include Law (6th), ‘Politics’ (7th), ‘Classics and Ancient History’ (9th) and ‘Sociology and Social Policy’ (9th).
Earlier this year, King’s was ranked 6th best university in the UK and 37th in the world in the prestigious QS World Rankings.
