The course was excellent. A great deal of thought has obviously gone into every detail of the programme, which provided a well-balanced mixture of theoretical foundations, experiential learning and real-world examples.

Leadership You Can Actually Use: Inside King's Transformative Leadership Programme
Leadership is rarely straightforward. King's Business School helps leaders to navigate the sometimes messy reality of real organisational situations.

Leading people rarely feels tidy. Balancing competing priorities, managing different personalities, and trying to make good decisions under pressure: leadership isn't straightforward.
At King’s College London, our Leadership & People Management course is built on the premise that leadership cannot be fully understood through theory alone. It must be experienced, examined and applied in real time.
Led by Dr Alexandra Budjanovcanin, this four-day programme is designed for professionals seeking to deepen their influence while navigating modern organisational complexity. The next cohort will run from 12 to 15 May 2026, with a follow up Capstone Day in September.
Beyond theory: leadership in practice
A key feature of the programme is its emphasis on experiential learning.
Participants go beyond learning leadership theory by taking part in an immersive organisational simulation, where they must make decisions, manage relationships and respond to evolving challenges in real time. This is paired with reflection, group discussion and feedback in the classroom, helping participants understand not just what they do as leaders, but how their leadership is experienced by others.
By learning to diagnose team culture, understand stages of development and align performance with organisational goals, participants also develop the ability to adapt their leadership style to different individuals and contexts. Guest speakers from a range of sectors add further perspective, sharing insights on challenges such as social mobility and leadership in unconventional environments.
The learning doesn't end with the four-day course. King's recognises the importance of practice and reflection over time in developing as a leader, so participants are invited to return for a Capstone Day months later to assess what has changed in their leadership practices since the programme and where further development is needed.
A strong peer learning environment
The cohort is an important part of the experience.
A diverse cohort is one of the main strengths of the Leadership & People Management programme. Participants come from a wide range of industries, countries and backgrounds, creating a rich exchange of perspectives and preparing leaders for international and cross-cultural environments.
These connections continue beyond the classroom through an active alumni network that supports ongoing development and networking opportunities.
Most leadership development focuses on what leaders should do. Far less attention is paid to what leadership actually feels like in practice - messy, relational and shaped as much by perception as by intention. At King’s College London, the Leadership and People Management programme is built around this reality. It treats leadership not as a set of abstract competencies, but as something that emerges in interaction- through how people respond to you, challenge you or choose not to follow at all.
