I am delighted that this Faculty has retained second place in the world in the latest QS World University rankings by Subject, so achieving our ambition to be firmly located among the top three nursing schools in the world. Some of our metrics have improved since 2019, which indicates the continued commitment of our staff to world-class teaching and research which makes a positive difference to the lives of those in receipt of nursing, midwifery and palliative care services. Our ranking in the QS is a real achievement and I am very proud of the collective efforts of our community.

Nursing at King's is ranked second by QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020
Latest QS Rankings rate nursing at King’s number two in the world for the second year in a row.
King’s continues to be home to the world’s second-best nursing faculty, according to the 2020 instalment of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, by global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
The QS World University rankings by Subject, is an extensive overview of international higher education performance, with over 1300 universities from 83 locations ranked in 48 subject tables and five broad disciplinary tables. The data provides students, policymakers, academic administrators, faculty, and employers with insight into institutional performance. The methodology is comprised of and overall score and four key indicators: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations Per Paper and H-Index (the average productivity/impact per scholar).
While sustaining its position as number 2 in the world, nursing at King’s increased its overall score and in two of the four metrics – Citations Per Paper and Employer Reputation. For Academic Reputation, nursing at King’s scored 97 out of 100 – which was bettered only by the University of Pennsylvania – the world-leader.
Nursing at King’s also achieved the highest scores in the institution for Overall Score (94 out of 100), Academic Reputation (97 out of 100) and H-Index (98.4 out of 100).
Nursing at King’s is also ranked third in the world in the latest Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (2019).
