Professor Graham Wynn appointed Vice President (Education & Student Success)
Professor Wynn will start at King's in April 2026

Professor Graham Wynn has been appointed to the post of Vice President (Education & Student Success) for King's after an international search that drew wide interest and attracted an excellent shortlist of candidates.
The panel found in Graham a proven leader who we felt had the breadth and depth of strategic experience and a particularly clear view of what would be required to lead the ambitious educational initiatives that will be key to the success of the King's 2030 strategy.
Professor Wynn comes to us from his current role as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) & Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics at Northumbria University, where he has led large-scale transformation programmes, capital projects and institutional responses to complex challenges in the HE sector for a university of 40,000 students which balances research, education and access. At Northumbria he has embedded the use of learner analytics and mental health indices to provide holistic support for students and has, most recently, led the university’s strategy on Generative AI in Education, establishing the Centre for Responsible AI and delivering the rollout of Claude for Education (a generative AI model by Anthropic) for all students and staff.
Prior to that, as Pro Vice-Chancellor of Education at Leicester University, Professor Wynne established a strong record of enhancing student success through strategic innovation, most notably through the Curriculum Transformation and Education Excellence strategic change programmes, which underpinned Leicester’s TEF Gold Award in 2023.
His extensive experience means that he is very well placed to drive the Student Futures transformation programme at King's and our strategic work in TASK, King's Edge and the King's Academy. As a research-active academic, who himself has led faculties, schools and departments, he understands the complex challenges and priorities that faculties are leaning into. He will work with all of our nine faculties to ensure that our educational excellence and our reputation for student success reflects and sustains our world-leading position.
