Coronavirus update - Graduations
25 March 2020
King's has today written to all final year students to advise that after a great deal of careful consideration, we will be unable to deliver the graduation ceremonies currently planned for July. It has been an extremely difficult decision to reach, but the safety of our community of students, staff and visitors must come first.
We appreciate that this will be extremely disappointing news for many. Degrees will not be affected and certificates will be sent to students directly at the normal time.
Graduation days are a real highlight in the academic life of the university, and often some of the most special occasions for recognising our amazing students and all that they have achieved. We fully expect to hold celebratory events again in London in the future, which will be open to all those cohorts of students affected by the present circumstances.
Although July's ceremonies will not take place, we are exploring alternative ways of celebrating our students' achievements and will keep them updated.
Working together, communicating with each other and drawing on collective support will enable us to navigate the challenges ahead as one, strong community.
Keeping updated:
We encourage our students to regularly check their KCL inbox and the coronavirus pages on our website for the latest updates and advice.
