Windows Phone Workshop

Microsoft is coming to Kings College London on Wednesday 25 January! Students will have the opportunity to develop their own phone apps to be published on the Windows Phone Marketplace. .

Microsoft have various resources available to students including a step by step video on how to prepare for the event here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlka36emPYE. Students should follow the steps on the video before the day of the event.

The tools are all on the Microsoft website. Students can click on the Windows Phone icon and get downloading by selecting their university. Participants will get the same tools as professional developers and designers, but without the costs.  

The event will run from 18:00 to 21:30 in the Council Room, on the second floor of the King’s Building, Strand Campus.

It will include presentations on:

  • Windows Phone API
  • Visual Studio
  • App templates
  • Windows Phone Marketplace

The second half of the Phone Camp will involve a coding session for students to get stuck in. Microsoft will be ordering takeaway pizza for students at the end.

Students attending should bring their own laptops to the event.
