Additional Tutorials (UG)
** Undergraduate Students Only**
These tutorials are for first year students. The intention is to give students who are at the beginning of their course the opportunity to have their difficulties sorted out in an informal way. You can ask for any topic to be gone over at your own pace. The principles involved in the weekly exercises are discussed, ideas on how to approach the problems are suggested and methods of solution are work-shopped by everyone present (the actual work set will not be done for you!).
You are encouraged to make use of these sessions to sort out anything you are having trouble with.
These tutorials are run by Mrs Jane Bennett-Rees and will take place on Wednesdays from 14.00–17.00 in room S5.20 in semester one and two. You should aim to come early in the session but only stay for as long as you wish.
Dates of the first session will be circulated via email.
In addition to the walk-in tutorials, the Department offers pop-in tutorials for first and second year students.
Usually, there are two such tutorials per week that are conducted by final year Mathematics students at King’s. These tutorials are informal, and you are free to come and go as you please. You may ask questions about any aspects of your modules which are troubling you, or which you are finding difficult, but please note that these pop-in tutorials are NOT intended as a forum for solving the problems on next week’s exercise sheet! In the past many students have found these tutorials very helpful and you are encouraged to attend.
Details of times and rooms are available on the internal website in the Pop-In Tutorials section under UG Links.
