Exam paper marking

How we mark your work

Each examination script is carefully marked by two examiners and then checked by external experts. Summative coursework is also marked by two members of staff and checked by external examiners. We take this process very seriously.

The undergraduate marking criteria explains how your work is marked. You should refer to this when writing coursework as it will be a good guide as to what your lecturers are looking for in a piece of work.

All examination scripts are marked by two members of staff, usually the lecturer of the module and by a second examiner. The script may also be considered by an external examiner.

For information regarding the marking procedure for coursework and projects, please refer to the project handbooks.
