Professor elected President of HSRGC

Professor Mairi Sakellariadou, part of the Theoretical Particle Physics & Cosmology in the Department of Physics, has been elected as the President of HSRGC, the National Society of Greece on the scientific areas of Relativity, Gravitation and Cosmology, and a member of the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation (ISGRG). The Society’s purpose is to promote the study of Relativity, Gravitation and Cosmology and to exchange scientific and professional information in the interest of its members. The Society was formed in 2010 and Prof. Mairi Sakellariadou, a founding member of the HSRGC, has previously served as Vice President of the Society for 2010-2012 and for 2012-2014. The HSRGC organises a biannual international conference (NEB— Recent Developments in Gravity), as well as various other scientific and outreach activities. The Society has now about 100 members, all active researchers in the areas of Relativity, Gravitation, or Cosmology, who are academic staff in Universities and research Institutions either in Greece or abroad.
