Dr Deborah Chinn

Deborah ChinnDr Deborah Chinn qualified as an NHS clinical psychologist in 1990 and afterwards worked mainly in community learning disability teams around London. She completed her PhD focusing on staff responses to parents with learning disabilities, becoming more involved in research activities. These included projects relating to; community health needs assessments, health promotion and health literacy.  More recently she has been looking at how people with learning disabilities access mainstream services – both mental health services and primary care.  

Dr Chinn is currently working on a three year fellowship project funded by National Institute for Health Research exploring how health staff support health communication with people with learning disabilities and carers.
