Dr Akshika Wijesundara

Akshika is a Research Associate in Machine Learning in the Department of Population Health Sciences working with Professor Vasa Curcin in Biomedical Informatics. Akshika previously worked as Senior Tech Lead - Data Scientist in the growth-hacking team of WSO2. Akshika has a Ph.D. in Computing from the Open University, UK, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Akshika specialises in data science, human-computer interaction, software engineering, privacy, and ubiquitous computing. He enjoys science, entrepreneurship, managing his foundation (Sustainable Education Foundation), science fiction, playing the guitar, running, competitive programming, and competitive sports.
