Biography

Brittney Mengistu is a Fulbright Scholar and PhD student in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine. She is currently investigating the effect of acculturation on mental health help-seeking behaviours amongst Eritrean women in the diaspora.

By employing a community-based participatory approach, she aims to actively engage the Eritrean community in research practices that are culturally sensitive and relevant to the refugee community.
