My lab group investigates the neural mechanisms underlying olfactory innate and learned behaviours. Using functional imaging and behaviour assays we aim to map the pathways linking higher olfactory processing centres to motor neurons, in order to understand how olfactory input guides context-specific behaviours. Ultimately, we hope that our research will uncover basic principles in neural processing. I am actively engaged in women returning to science and serves on the returners to bioscience advisory board at the Royal Society of Biology. I am also the departmental diversion and inclusion representative.
