Dr Carol Flavell is involved in the 'Vestibular Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis' (VeRMiS), and 'Holobalance' studies being conducted within the Centre of Human & Applied Physiological Sciences.
She graduated as a physiotherapist from Wolverhampton School of Physiotherapy in 1985, worked clinically for over 25 years in UK, New Zealand, Australia, and briefly in Northern Vanuatu. She completed an MSc in sports biomechanics in 2009, and a PhD which investigated physiotherapy examination processes in chronic low back pain in 2018. She has held previous positions of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Structural Anatomy.
Dr Flavell's research interests involve rehabilitation in chronic disease, new technologies in physiotherapy, and reliability and validity of physiotherapy examination tools and processes.
